Information for the 2025-2026 DHS Squash Team season is below. 

The '25-'26 DHS Squash Season will start on Monday, Dec 1 and continue until Friday, Feb 27 for all teams.

All teams practice at MSquash Sono, located at 85 Water Street in South Norwalk. On weekdays, transportation is provided from DHS to MSquash at the end of the school day. Transportation is not provided at the end of practice. 

Matches begin the week after tryouts and continue throughout the season. Most matches are on weekday evenings and weekends. For most away matches (other than MSquash Sono and Chelsea Piers), a bus will bring players to matches (departure from DHS). 

Week of Dec. 1- Tryouts/Evaluations. Players will be assigned dates to attend based on their level. Total beginners are welcome. 

Week of 12/8-12/19- Players attend assigned practice days. Matches will also start. 

12/19/25-1/1/26- DHS School Break

1/2/26- 1/12/26- Players attend assigned practice days. Matches to take place. 

1/13/26-1/25/26- Midterms. Players to select 2 of the 3 practices offered each week based on their midterm schedules. 

Week of 1/26-Thursday, 2/13/26- Regular practices and matches. ** Potential for JV players to attend US Squash Inter-scholastics in Philadelphia from 2/5-2/8. 

Week of 2/16/26- DHS Feb Break. No practices for JV teams. Varsity players attending Nationals to attend practices on Tuesday, 2/17 and Wednesday, 2/18. Nationals players leave for Philadelphia on Thursday, 2/19 and return on Sunday, 2/22. 

Week of 2/23- Final week of practices for all teams. 

Sunday, 3/1- End of Season Banquet. All players and parents invited. 


Attendance at practices and ladder matches is mandatory. Exceptions are illness, family emergency or participation in a US Squash tournament. 

PRACTICES:
**Starting the week of 12/1, a bus will bring all players from the DHS Athletic Loop to MSquash Sono for all weekday tryouts and practices. Transportation is not provided back to Darien at the end of practice nor is transportation offered on Sundays. 

The varsity practice days include some players who are rostered towards the top of JV, as the coaches feel they will benefit from practicing with the varsity teams, and as we want to give everyone equal court space and coaching attention with a total group of 48 players. The players who are 10-13 ranked for now, will mostly play JV -matches. 

Following tryouts, players will be given many opportunities during the season to move up and down the teams’ ladders, so we anticipate changes to the rosters throughout the season. 

Girls Practice Group 1- Players 1-9 are on the DHS Varsity Roster. 10-12 are JV. 
Practices: Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Fridays 3:00-4:30pm each day
Roster to be posted following tryouts. 

Girls Practice Group 2- Players are JV and JV B:
Practices Mondays, Wednesdays and Sundays 3-4:30 each day
Roster to be posted following tryouts. 

Boys Practice Group 1- Players 1-9 are on the DHS Varsity Roster. 10-12 are JV. 
Practices: Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays 3:00-4:30pm each day
Roster to be posted following tryouts. 

Boys Practice Group 2- Players are JV and JV B:
Practice Mondays, Thursdays and Sundays 3-4:30 each day

Note:​

• Please come dressed to play
• Bring  goggles or iMask, racquet, squash sneakers and water bottle
• Players are responsible for keeping track of their personal belongings​

All registered players attend tryouts the week of Dec. 1, 2026. Total beginners are welcome! In advance of December 1 players will be assigned tryout dates based on their level. These tryout assignments will be posted on the Weekly Update page here during the week of 11/26/25.

​For tryouts, please remember:

• A bus will bring all players from the DHS Athletic Loop to MSquash immediately after school each day. 
• Players will need athletic wear, non-marking court shoes, protective eyewear and a racquet. We also recommend a water bottle and a towel. 
• Tryouts run 3:00-4:30pm. There is not a bus back to Darien, so players will need to arrange their own transportation home. Students may not drive other students!
• Total beginners will be put in their own group where coaches are ready to teach the basics of squash. 
• Callbacks for some players will take place on Friday, December 5
• Any player who has not submitted an updated medical form to the DHS Nurse Office will not be allowed on court per DHS rules. 

We plan to finalize the varsity and jv rosters by the end of day on Saturday, Dec 6, and will post the rosters on our website. Once the rosters are complete, please make note of the practice times for the following weeks and we strongly encourage players to enter the match schedule for the season in their calendars!

Nationals again overlap with the second half of the February school break. Please keep this in mind as players 1-8 are expected to train during the break and will travel as a team on Thursday, 2/19/26.  Please make sure your family plans accordingly! 

​We need varsity team players 1-8 to arrive in Philadelphia by 6pm on Thursday, Feb 19 and stay through end of day on Sunday, Feb 22.  There will be practices during the Feb break leading up to the teams' departure on Thursday evening and matches begin as early as 8am on Friday morning.

ARRIVAL

• Be ready to play at start of practice. Locker rooms are available for players to change before practice. 
• Drop your bag in the designated area outside your court
• Bring your own equipment: towel, goggles, racquet, and filled water bottles  

DRESS CODE & EQUIPMENT

• Bring non-marking sneakers, squash goggles, squash racquet, towel and water bottle
• Wear street shoes into the clubhouse, and change into squash sneakers before getting on court
• Players are responsible for keeping track of their personal belongings.
