No experience is needed to play in our Middle School Program. There are no cuts or tryouts. We do conduct player assessments in order to group players appropriately by skill level.
The Middle School Team is open to MMS and private school students who live in Darien. Private school participants are able to participate in all matches and jamborees, with the exception of Nationals (per US Squash rules).

We will play matches here and at other venues.
For drop offs at Ox Ridge, please drop off in the circle by the flag and enter at the eastern door. Please be mindful of horses and close the gate behind you. Don’t get turned away if the gate is closed when you arrive. This is a private club, so players must be respectful of the space and may not enter the dining room, gym, stables/barns or other areas of the club.

Assessments
Week of 11/29. M-F 5-6pm, S/S 2:30-3:30
Practices
Start the week of 12/6 and run through the week of 3/7 for a total of 13 weeks including the assessments
Schedule is M-F, 5-6pm, Sat/Sun 5-6pm.
Players will be placed in groupings based on the assessments and ratings.
Group 1 – Practice Monday/Wednesday, 5:00-6:00pm
Group 2 – Practice Tues/Thur, 5:00-6:00pm
All players- Sundays matches / ladder matches and open play, 5:00-6:00pm
If players have conflicts with their assigned practice days, we will do our best to work with that player to accomodate their schedule.
Matches – We will play matches throughout the season – likely between 7 and 10.
Matches are optional, but encouraged
Matches are open to all levels of play and team managers will do their best to pair players with opponents of the same level
Matches may have an additional cost depending on if the venue charges
We will record Match scores in US Squash in order to help players develop a rating

Jamborees
Fairwest Cup
Nationals
Pricing = $625 for the season. Plus a team shirt (approximately $30) for those player who do not already have one
Jamborees, Fairwest Cup and Nationals are extra

Ratings – All participants need to register with US Squash. Please visit http://www.ussquash.org and sign up for a free account.
Uniforms – Ox Ridge's dress code requires players to wear all white. Colored shoes are allowed and must be non-marking. In addition, players should bring a racquet and eye protection
Referee - Players will learn to referee matches and must do so at matches
COVID – Ox Ridge requires that anyone who is not fully vaccinated must wear a mask at all times. Vaccinated individuals do not need to wear masks. When we play at other venues, we will follow the Covid rules of that venue.
