DARIEN HIGH SCHOOL SQUASH TEAM

The '25-'26 season will begin December 1, 2025. Practices for all teams end the week of Feb 23, 2026.

Tryouts take place the week of December 1st. Players of all levels, including total beginners, are encouraged to try out.

Each team will have 3 practices per week. In addition, teams will likely have 1-2 matches per week. Many matches take place in the evening and/or on weekends. 

Our teams participate in the FairWest League, which includes public school teams from Fairfield County, Westchester County and surrounding areas. In addition to the FairWest League, we do occasionally play matches against private schools in the area. 

A meeting for all those interested in playing and parents will take place prior to the start of the season. ​

TEAM STRUCTURE

GIRLS & BOYS VARSITY: Players 1-8 as determined through tryouts
GIRLS & BOYS JV: Players 9-18 as determined through tryouts*

• Coaches will lead all sessions

*We try not to cut players and will often keep more than 18. However, if the number of players trying out far exceeds the number we are able to accommodate cuts may be necessary.

IMPORTANT DATES (2025-2026 Season)

• Tryouts: Week of December 1st from 3:00-4:30pm each day.
  
  • Girls attend on Monday, Dec. 1 and Weds Dec 3. Some may be asked to attend callbacks on Friday, Dec. 5.
    
  • Boys attend on Tues, Dec 2, and Thursday, Dec 4. Some may be asked to attend callbacks on Friday, Dec. 5. 
  • As a reminder, a bus will bring players from DHS to MSquash Sono for evaluations. The bus leaves immediately after school. 
    
• Practices take place from the week of December 8, 2025 up until the end of February 2026. We do not practice when school is closed for break or canceled due to weather/other reasons. 
• US Squash High School Nationals: We need all players 1-8 on varsity to be available in Philadelphia from 6pm on Thursday, Feb 19- Sunday, Feb 22. Practices will take place in the days leading up to the teams' departure.  Learn more about Nationals here​​
